I will never forget the time we sat listening while a 16 year
old girl told my wife and me of her deep distress. Home was not
a happy place. It was the scene of constant arguments,
accusations and hurt feelings. Some day she would have a home of
her own, the young lady asserted, and things would be different!
And yes, becoming a Christian seemed to be the right step to
take. "But," she said tearfully, "I'm afraid it won't last
because I'm so weak."
There are a lot of people who have thought the same thing.
That's all right, because no one is ever strong enough to live
like Christ continually. But God has provided all the help we
will ever need. Therefore, we can enter into the Christian life
with great hopefulness, no matter how dark the past.
When you and I are born into God's family by faith in Jesus
Christ, we can be sure that God will not abandon us on someone's
doorstep. What He begins He will finish. Since Jesus died to
save you, He surely lives to keep you! He will always be there
to live His powerful life in you.
Corrie ten Boom describes this reality of His power: "I have a
glove here in my hand. The glove cannot do anything by itself,
but when my hand is in it, the glove can do many things. It is
not the glove, but the hand in the glove that acts. The
Christian is the glove. It is the Holy Spirit (the hand) in us
who does the work. We have to make room for the hand so that
every finger is filled."
God never expected you or me to be strong in ourselves. If we
could handle it alone, why should He have died for us? His plan
includes cleaning up our lives and then living His life in us
and through us! "I can do everything through Him who gives me
strength," declares Paul in Philippians 4:13.
When God comes into your heart as Savior, He gives you whatever
power you need to keep living the Christian life day by day and
year by year. Remember, you have power and authority in Him!
"Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world."
In Him,
Rex Bullock

Please pray for my marriage. A year into marriage, my husband
continues to struggle with non-communication. Pray to soften my
husband's heart and teach him Communication to Resolution. I
pray for strength to stay the course and for us to see all the
hidden things that have caused no communication. Help us to
forgive and move past all the pain. Help us to love each other
again. Lord, take absolute control in our marriage and let my
husband see You and Your love through me.

My sweet wife Marilyn over the last 6 months has been having
back problems. Recently she had an MRI done by our family
doctor. Our doctor then sent her to a specialist last Friday.
After his examination he said she had two swollen herniated
disks pushing on her spine and strongly suggested surgery to
stop further damage in her "Motor" movements. So she is seeing
the surgeon on Tuesday. This is a major trial for us but we know
our awesome God is still on the throne. Thanks For Praying!!
Because God Is Still In Control,
Ron
